The Holina therapeutic program is a combination of physical, cognitive, mental, behavioural, emotional and spiritual functionally alongside practical socially supportive activities and learnings.
CBT behavioural cognitive therapy
CBT therapy is a structured and time-limited psychological intervention that was proven to be effective in a wide range of psychological and behavioural challenges. With regard to addictions, CBT enables the adoption of new behaviours and the avoidance of old and harmful habits.
Through the CBT, the patient acquires and implements behavioural strategies that help them recognise the true value of addictive rewards, while developing strategies for productive and beneficial coping with poor moods, external and internal pressures, stress, environmental manipulations, internal urges and more (Ágoston, 2013).
CBT & DBT are most useful because they imprint new ways for the individual to synthesise their emotions appropriately and therefore come to the conclusion that a new behaviour is more appropriate for them. It requires repetition and therefore it contributes towards the higher success rates in clients that stay a longer period with us – 2 or 3 months+
Mindfulness meditation
Mindfulness meditation has been proven to be one of the most effective methods for long-term treatment and coping with addictive behaviours such as alcoholism, substance abuse, eating disorders, gambling addiction, sex and love addiction and other addictive behaviours and processes.
Addictive behaviours tend to chronically reoccur. Therapeutic interventions through mindfulness meditation show remarkable success in stopping addictive behaviour and developing much healthier behaviours.
NLP
Neuro Linguistic Programming is based on concepts and models developed by the world’s largest minds in psychotherapy. NLP is a method that allows people to examine the relationship between the mind (perception) and language (active thinking) and allows a person to change the reactions between them. Through linguistic thinking, the NLP method helps to rebuild forms of thinking and provides an opportunity to re-examine stored memories and how we process those memories.
NLP is a proven method of effectively dealing with triggers for use in dealing with traumatic thoughts and dangerous triggers.
The 12 step Program
The 12 Step Program was originally conceived and successfully used to treat alcoholism in the 1930s, and 90 years later it still hod the power to serve many millions of individuals around the world to remain is happy and healthy recovery.
The 12-step approach is fully worldwide and uses the “addiction as a disease” model of thinking. Working with addicts requires a great deal of sensitivity to both mental and functional factors and the effects of addiction on family members.
Thanks to the ongoing success of implementing the 12 steps in the lives of addicts, the experienced Holina team integrates the therapeutic approach in every aspect of the diverse treatment aspects.
